Medical Guardian Medical Alert Systems

Classic Guardian

Classic Guardian

The Classic Guardian starts at $29.95 per month. The Classic Guardian is a traditional in-home medical alert system with a wearable help button, and a speaker / receiver base that connects to the monitoring center via landline. The pendent can be up to 1,300 feet away from the base station, which is the length of approximately 3 football fields, giving you plenty of range to work in the garden, take out the trash or get the mail and still be protected. The microphone and speaker in the base station are strong enough to hear you speak and for you to hear agents speak from nearly anywhere within the 1,300 foot range.

The advantage of an in-home, landline based, medical alert system is that the connection does not depend on the strength of the wireless signal and does not need frequent recharging. The battery in the pendent / help button itself can last years, without being recharged. If it loses power, Medical Guardian will send you a new help button at no charge.

You can also get automatic fall detection, which can detect falls and send an alert to the monitoring center without you having to press the emergency button.

Home Guardian

Home Guardian

The Home Guardian starts at $34.95 per month. The Home Guardian is an in-home medical alert system that operates in the same way as the Classic Guardian, except that the base station connects to the monitoring center via a wireless cellular connection instead of a landline. This option is great for those who've cut the chord and no longer have a landline. The drawback is that the help button has a range of 600 feet to the base station, instead of 1,300 feet with the Classic Guardian. 600 feet is still perfectly adequate for most homes.

You do not pay any extra for the cellular connection, as it's include in the monthly cost Medical Guardian charges you. The one thing you'll have to do is ensure that you have good wireless reception in your home through AT&T, Medical Guardians cellular partner.

Mobile Guardian

Mobile Guardian

The Mobile Guardian starts at $39.95 per month. If you lead an active lifestyle and you find yourself outside your home alone and want protection a mobile medical alert system can offer you the protection you're looking for. With the Mobile Guardian you can go anywhere, press the help button and talk through the two way voice device. Help will be dispatched to your exact location through the GPS technology embedded in the device. You can also add fall detection as an extra.

Active Guardian

Active Guardian

The Active Guardian starts at $49.95 per month. The Active Guardian is a 3 in 1 mobile device. In that one device above, comes a two-way talk microphone and receiver, GPS, help button and fall detection capabilities. It has a long lasting battery that can operate on a single charge for up to 5 days. It's also water resistant. Medical Guardian uses the AT&T cellular system, which is included in the monthly cost. You can wear the Active Guardian as a pendent around your neck. We love the system, finding it easy to use, with minimal equipment, as compared to the Mobile Guardian.

Freedom Guardian

Freedom Guardian

The Freedom Guardian starts at $44.95 per month, but also comes with an up-front cost of $99 for the watch, which you then own. The Freedom Guardian medical alert smartwatch connects you to the monitoring center via a help button on the home screen and a help button on the side of the watch. For those who want protection while in or out of the home, and want something a little more stylish, this may be a great solution for you.

It comes with alerts, medication reminders, and allows caregivers to send texts that get converted to audio. Two words of caution, it does not come with fall detection and it's not waterproof.

Medical Guardian Response Centers

Medical Guardian prides itself in offering ULC, 5 Diamond Certified monitoring centers with highly skilled agents who receive specific training to handle both emergency and non-emergency situations. This is important because Medical Guardian receives more non-emergency calls and dispatches more non-emergency services than ambulances, fire and police combined!

With Medical Guardian you can set up your own Care Circle, which is a list of emergency contacts. Depending on the situation, agents can call a member of the circle of care to resolve a situation or emergency services. If emergency services are called, a member of the circle of care will also be notified.

So whether you need to speak with a member of the Care Circle, emergency responders or just need to check in and hear a friendly voice, Medical Guardian will be glad to take the call.

When emergency responders are sent to your home, they will provide the code to the lock box to the emergency responders, so they can open the front door with a key, avoiding damage.

Conclusion

Falls are the number one cause of injury to older adults, with over 50% of adults over the age of 75 falling in their homes every year! If you've already fallen, your chance of falling again doubles. Falling, fear of falling and injuries resulting from falls are one of the leading reasons older adults lose their independence. Medical alert systems such as Medical Guardian can play an important role in allowing seniors to age in place safely, while living independently longer.
